BMW Airs Action-Packed Promo For New M4 GTS [Video]

BMW is promoting its new 500 PS / 493 hp M4 GTS as a track-ready corner muncher with a habit of drifting. The GTS is apparently the fastest production BMW ever and it reportedly cut as much as 30 seconds from the base M4’s Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time.

It uses water jets that spray straight into the intake thus cooling the charge – this is borrowed from the M4 safety car that we’re already familiar with.

It’s still outgunned by the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe, which has a 510 PS / 503 hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 mill under its hood, but that car is heavier and not a special track enthusiast edition like the GTS.

The video promo highlights the M4 GTS’s track-focused nature as well as the fact it really likes going sideways. This is cool coming from a car that’s theoretically set up for maximum grip and minimum lap times – the 30-second difference between this and the regular car speaks for itself.
