Mitsubishi Xpander, a seven-seater family SUV that combines Japanese engineering excellence with local manufacturing expertise

The grand launch event was attended by dignitaries, industry leaders, and celebrities, symbolizing a turning point in the country’s automotive capabilities. His Excellency SAIDA Shinichi, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, graced the ceremony as Chief Guest, highlighting the strengthening partnership between Japan and Bangladesh. He stated, “This launch is not just about a car. It symbolizes deeper technical cooperation, value creation, and bi-lateral friendship for the next phase of our shared future.”

The Mitsubishi Xpander, powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine, is well-known across ASEAN markets for its reliability, practicality, and affordability. Equipped with Dual AC and crafted for both comfort and functionality, it has become a favorite among Bangladeshi families even before local manufacturing began. Now, with local assembly at RANCON Industrial Park, the Xpander becomes not just a car for Bangladesh — but one proudly made by Bangladesh.

The launch represents a significant achievement in RANCON’s long-standing relationship with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, which dates back 50 years. Mr. Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Group Managing Director of RANCON Holdings, emphasized the company’s broader vision:
“Thanks to this long partnership and the Bangladesh government’s manufacturing initiatives, we have created an ecosystem that produces vehicles to the highest global standards while maintaining affordability. With a best-in-class paint shop, advanced assembly lines, and Japanese-trained professionals, each locally made Xpander comes with a five-year warranty and two years of included servicing.”

The manufacturing takes place in a vast 52-acre industrial park, which also produces components and vehicles for other global brands including Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz, Proton, JAC, LG, and Toshiba.

Mitsubishi Xpander stands as a bold testament to what strategic partnerships and visionary leadership can achieve. As Bangladesh steps into the future of industrialization, this launch not only provides consumers with a high-quality family SUV but also cements the country’s position as a rising force in global automotive manufacturing.

With Japanese engineering and Bangladeshi ambition coming together, the Xpander represents a new era — made with pride, built for the road ahead.
