Equus Bass 770- The eternal magnificence

Equus Bass 770, sounds quite right if it’s a guitar or a musical instrument! or maybe a missile? a fighter jet?

Well not quite! . At first glance , if you really are a true petrol head, you would instantly come to say that it’s the Iconic Ford Mustang Fastback from the 1960s. A movie star, one of the legendary symbols of the classic  American muscle cars.

Well you would be right in that sense too. The Equus Bass 770 by Equus Automotive is a completely modern 21st century sports car, that sort of takes the styling of from the 1965 ford mustang.  This car is a whole new recreation or should we say reincarnation of the legendary Mustang Fastback 1965. This car is a work of art. It’s like your childhood favorite car coming back in a new form to suit the standards of the new age. Who wouldn’t want that?  We all love Ferrari F40s and Mclaren F1s ( the list would go on!) . There are cars that sort of started the whole new era, a new lifestyle setting a new benchmark in terms of performance and design.

The mustang first generation would be the one example. That muscle car era. Drag racing between the traffic lights, the long never ending twisty country roads is where the stangs would run wild!

The Equus Bass 770 you would believe to have 770 hp? or a 7.7 liter?  but, the engine is actually a 6.2 liter Supercharged Corvette C6 ZR1 engine that pumps out 631 bhp and 605lb ft of torque. That’s good enough to shred the rear tires with ease since that’s what muscle cars are good for!… no we meant showing off! who would do it best?

Transferring all that power is a 6 speed dual clutch automatic. You would also get carbon ceramic brakes , adaptive magnetic dampers and lots of LEDs! ( whoa that’s sounds just about right! that’s like seeing today’s Schwarzenegger to what he was in the 1990s!, no botox no plastic surgery!)

It does an earth shattering 3.4 seconds to 100km/h and top speed is at around 200mph.

The whole car is fully hand built. Every aluminum bits and pieces of the trim, the dash the speedo meter and the gauges the gear knobs are all hand built by men who’s hair might have gone white and gone bald due to their years of experience and wisdom!, that’s what it looks like! . Jokes apart this car is serious business.. It took 6 years in the making by a team of professional car enthusiasts. Extreme attention to detail  ensuring a flawless quality and the maximum performance benchmark achievable through years of research and testing, development. The dash board is upholstered in high quality leather. The chassis is a combination of carbon fiber and aluminium reinforced panels.

The Equus Automotive website would also give you a dedicated designer when you order one car. So that you can personalize to any thing you want. Some of the finest craftsmen and artists and performance specialist would be at your service and this would be your life time experience to own such a piece.

This car as we have said it already, is an “Art’. It’s a reincarnation of a legendary concept . We believe it’s just perfect. Not over done not lost but just about perfect.  Its a good thing that manufacturers are willing to bring back some of the lost legends from the 60s . We would very well want more of this to happen. Why not bring back those cool cars from the 90s too? .  ( yea we know what you would be thinking! lets just keep it to ourselves then!)

Today’s technology and research and development combining with some of the legendary design and styling is taking this to a whole new level. We would like to get back some of those cars and Equus has given us this.

But to hold on to your horses, you wouldn’t be seeing one flying by those twisty winding country roads or roaring through the Canyons so soon, since the production is very limited.

The price tag of one Equus Bass 770 is around  250,000 US$ or so. Well we believe it’s worth it. It’s not made to be a competitor to today’s porsche 911s or Ferraris but just to be a car  that stands as an example of the old, presented in the modern way.

A timeless Elegance.
