Lets travel back to 1968, Mitsubishi rolled out  multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) called The Delica. The name Delica derived from English language phrase Delivery Car. Although the life of Delica started on a platform of a small pick up, Mitsubishi have changed the evolution of Delica drastically. In today’s world Delica is known as The World’s First Sport Utility MPV .

The D:5 is the fifth generation Delica in their respective evolution.  Mitsubishi has announced that the new Delica D:5 will serve as a support vehicle for the automaker’s factory Dakar team. The Delica D:5 replaces the Mitsubishi Pajero as the team’s support vehicle. From various internet sources, the D:5 with Dakar livery looks stunning, few previews of which you see below. If Mitsubishi’s confident it can complete the event, that’s enough for us. They’ve been at this for a while now, so they know what they’re doing and how to prepare a vehicle for the event.

Now, Lets come back to Bangladesh, recently Rangs Limited introduced the new D:5 in to Bangladesh market. The particular model offered for Bangladesh market is a 7 seater with ample of interior space with huge luggage space. The front dash features steering wheel accommodating audio control switches, Paddle Shifters,  and High contrast meter cluster with MID.  In order to make the long journeys more pleasant and enjoyable Mitsubihshi have fitted a smart entertainment system. To maintain pleasant ambiance , the Delica D:5 offers automatic air conditioner with climate control.

In the exterior the Sport Utility MPV features 18 inch alloy wheels optional, a newly bold and elegant designed chrome front grille and bumper- We Loved it!, electric retractable mirrors,  HID Headlamps incorporating ACL (Active Cornering Lights assist), and fog lamps on the bumper.  In order to make it more comfortable for passengers, the it also comes with electric rear sliding power doors. The most unique aspect of the MPV is the captain seats. The rear passenger seats are as comfortable as they are in the front making long journeys enjoyable. These seats also give ample leg room and head room for all the back seat passengers.

In the power department, Mitsubishi have bolted the D:5 with 2.0ltr SOHC MIVEC that produces 150ps at 6000rpm  and 191nm of torque at 4000rpm. The engine is paired INVECS-III 6 speed CVT transmission with manumatic paddle shifter. Safety features such as 4ABS, Active Stability Control, Hill Start Assist System, Brake Assist System (Mechanical), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) come as standard package.
